The Governors of Wellingborough School are committed to broadening access to the School by offering means-tested financial support towards the payment of school fees.

Such support may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% on tuition fees, depending on the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants. An award to this level may also include an appropriate contribution for uniform and other non-tuition compulsory items such as books, examination fees and field study trips.

Awards are subject to confidential annual testing of parental means and may be varied upwards or downwards, depending on changing financial circumstances. Recipients of Awards are expected to participate fully and contribute to the life and ethos of the School.

Financing is through a limited fund set each year by the Governors and therefore not all applications will necessarily be successful.

Requests for financial support fall into two categories:

• New prospective applicants to the School where parents/guardians are unable to fund the tuition fees.

• Existing pupils where a change in parents’/guardians’ circumstances has resulted in difficulty in meeting tuition fees and may result in the child being withdrawn part way through a stage of education.
