The WPPPA is a committee of parents who have children in the Pre-Prep School. We are an enthusiastic and active group of parents and our aim is to organise social events where families can come together in a relaxed atmosphere.  In organising these events we are able to raise funds for the school to help provide addition items to benefit the school and pupils.

During the last few years we have held our Annual Festive Fayre, Cinema mornings, Race Night, Year 3 Leavers Disco and our Sports Day Extravaganza.  These events are an excellent opportunity for new parents and children to the school, to socialise with others.

Race Night

Our inaugural Race Night took place in September and was a great success.  This gave a fantastic opportunity for new and old parents of the Pre-Prep to come together socially while enjoying a night at the races with WPPPA committee members at the helm of the tote and commentary – a fantastic amount of money was raised and we are looking forward to next year.   

Festive Fayre 

The Pre-Prep Annual Festive Fayre holds a special place in the hearts of all the Pre-Prep children as it signals the start of the run up to Christmas. This year’s event was no exception; Punch and Judy gave a show, Elves were on hand to help children make special presents for their Mummy’s and Daddy’s and activities galore helped to keep the children entertained.

Not forgetting Father Christmas who managed a special visit to the Pre Prep to meet our children.

Sports Day  Our inaugural Sports Day Extravaganza was a tremendous success.  Inflatables galore, brilliant sunshine and great socialising made the afternoon truly magical.  The children had an amazing time letting off steam on the many bouncing activities and parents watched in awe of their child’s boundless energy.  To help take the heat off a glorious summer’s afternoon, the ice cream van had a constant stream of parents and children trying to cool off.  A fantastic event – thank you to all parents for supporting this afternoon of summer fun.

Swap Shop

Additional funds for the WPPPA are raised through our swap shop.  The swap shop has an array of good quality second hand Pre-Prep uniform from blazers to ballet shoes, if the children in Pre-Prep wear it swap shop will sell it!  50% of an item’s resell value is retained by the committee to spend on items for Pre-Prep pupils.  Please support this wonderful resource and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with Jo Douglas, via the WPPPA email address, who co-ordinates the swap shop on behalf of the WPPPA committee.

Recently purchase items All monies raised by WPPPA social events, activities and the Swap Shop are used to purchases additional resources to enhance the teaching and learning within Pre-Prep.  Nursery – WPPPA have provided a range of new display furniture allowing the children easier access to the toys and equipment which they can use. Reception – WPPPA have provided wooden blocks for Reception; construction material that is of limitless educational value to children of this age. Music room – A very recent purchase by WPPPA is a benefit to all years of the Pre-Prep.  A new screen and speakers have been installed in the Music and Art room, which has added to the learning environment.
