The Preparatory School's Saturday Activities programme operates on 15 Saturdays throughout the year, five in each term, and gives children the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities that are often not available during the school week. The programme is optional, although many of our pupils take part on a regular basis. The system operates from 9.30am to 12.30pm and the morning is split into two one and a half hour sessions. The activities on offer vary with the time of the year and are dictated by demand. The Saturday activities are run by experts from within and outside the School, and encompass a mix of sport and creative opportunities. A small charge is made for these activities.
Many of the activities on offer are sporting ones but there are less strenuous activities such as Drama and Art . Children can opt for different activities each term, although there are certain activities, such as film school, with which they may wish to continue and join a more advanced group. The main aim of the programme is to provide as wide a range of activities as possible for the children in an even more relaxed atmosphere than during the School week. Saturdays are non-uniform days and the programme gives pupils the chance to see each other outside the classroom.
Saturday Activities have got off to a good start this term under the watchful eye of our 'Leader', Mrs Sarah King.
Thank you to those of you that have expressed your appreciation and confidence in the new organisation of Saturday mornings, we are very grateful. If you would like to know any more please contact sk@wellingboroughschool.org
