Art at Wellingborough Preparatory School
An artist requires inspiration and opportunity. The Art Department at Wellingborough Preparatory School provides both.
The Art Curriculum consists of a number of themes, which are taught through a balance of different teaching methods. Pupils are given the opportunity to learn through a combination of teacher prepared materials and practical tasks. Pupils are always encouraged to develop their artistic talents and to use and stretch their imagination.
Pupils from year four to year eight, are taught by a specialist teacher. This means that by year eight, pupils are competent in most disciplines and are enthusiastic to develop and expand their creative skills.
The high profile given to Art at Wellingborough Preparatory School is further enhanced by a popular After School Art Club as well as an Art Enrichment group of selected pupils.
Next term the website will be updated with finished works by the pupils. A great deal of the work, which has already been completed, was displayed at the recent annual Art Exhibition at the Castle Theatre, and now adorns the walls of our school buildings. Why not come along and have look for yourself. Just book a tour with our Registrar jroberts@wellingboroughschool.org. You can see more of the Art Exhibition photographs in the following pages. In the meantime, why not view some of last year's Art Scholars.
