The English Department believes that a love of reading is vital to every person; it is a skill for life. We aim to help each child to develop this skill.
The aim is for each child to read a minimum of six books per year from a range of genres: one each half term. So, each half term, they should read one from the list and, if they finish this quickly, they may then choose any other book from the library or from home. The same process will apply to each of the six half term and the books may be read in any order.
Required Reading List 2010 - 2011
If any parent objects, for whatever reason, to any book on the list please contact your child's English teacher for an alternative choice.
