Match Reports 14/10/17: Hockey
These are match reports from last weekend's Hockey fixtures against Bloxham.
On Saturday the second team played Bloxham. The first half started off extremely well with everyone putting in maximum effort with Harriet Waite and Liv Lodge creating some great chances. Unfortunately, the second half saw Bloxam score two goals due to our defence breaking down - however our heads did not drop and we continued to play well.
The first team also played Bloxham on Saturday and won 7-0. After Bellsey scoring in the first minute, the team's confidence was boosted and it set the standard for the game. Rosie Williamson scored a hatrick, Lily Roberts Nuttall scored 2 and one also came from Lucy Simms. This was our best game so far and hopefully we can build on this even more on Thursday against rugby.
On Saturday the U15A team played against Bloxham and won 2-1. It was a tight game, and it could’ve gone either way. However we had a great defence and with a goal scored by Ella Miles and Imogen Smith we were able to secure the win. There were some great passes throughout the game and Sophie Crook played very well in goal defending some hard shots and was deservedly awarded player of the match.
On Saturday the U15B team played against Bloxham and lost 1-0. There were some great passes from everyone especially Simran Johal who was awarded player of the match. Thank you to Lottie and Lexi who helped out with numbers from the U14’s.
On Tuesday the U14B team put up a tough fight against Oundle, but unfortunately lost 3-0. They defended the ball well and Molly Balzan played well as the goalie. Charlotte Holmes also played well and was awarded player of the match.
On Saturday the U14B team played against Bloxham and won 1-0. The girls work rate was up all game, which rewarded them with a win. The defending by Nicole Mukhtar and Anoushka Khot was brilliant which resulted in Bloxham not being able to score. It was a real team effort and at the end of the game Emily O’Conner was deservedly awarded player of the match.
