Match Reports 18/11/17: Hockey and Rugby

These are match reports from last weekend's hockey and rugby fixtures against Bedford Girls School and Princethorpe.

U15A - played against Bedford Girls School and lost 1-0. It was an unlucky loss, as there was a break in play and Wellingborough couldn’t get back in time to stop the goal. However Wellingborough played well having most of the possession. There were also some great phases of play and brilliant passing up and down the line. Well done to everyone who played

1st XI - did not start off well with Bedford scoring early on due to us switching off. We then regrouped and managed to attack more, holding them off from scoring until the last few minutes of the first half. We came back stronger in the second half, with a lot more attacking play where I managed to score leaving the game to end 2-1.

2nd XI - started off well applying a lot of pressure on Bedford. We managed to give ourselves lots of opportunities to score but sadly the chances weren’t executed. Unfortunately, Bedford caught us on the break and scored three times due to silly mistakes. The game ended 3:0.

3rd XI -lost 3-1, but had some good attacking play on the right wing from Grace Arrowsmith and Louisa Nevision. Annabel Murphy also played well in goal for the first time

1st XV - played against Princethorpe, they were a physical side however we fronted up well, scoring 3 tries in the first half, through Henri Codling, Matt Clarke and Joe Saxby, a good defensive effort led to them scoring no points, leaving the score 24-0.

2nd XV - won 41-24, some good attacking play led to many scores, from Phllip Howells, Jonny Clarke, 2 from Harvey Lewis and 3 from Ollie Cousins.
