Ancient Egyptian Day
On Wednesday 29th November the Year 3 children were transported back to Ancient Egyptian times with the help of our Egyptian Vizier from the “History Off the Page” company.
During the morning the children learnt through hands on workshops sessions; doing such things as making oil from olives, dough, canopic jars, beads and writing with hieroglyphics.
Later during the afternoon the children experienced a banquet at the royal court of the Pharaoh Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti, and provided entertainment for each other in the form of storytelling, mime and dance.
The children had a wonderful time, and everybody (parent helpers and teachers included) entered into the spirit of the day by wearing an array of fabulous Egyptian costumes.
