Annual 7's Tournament.

Senior Sports

On Sunday the U15's attended Magdalen College to play in the annual 7's tournament.

It was a crisp winter morning, which favoured Wellingborough in the opening games. First up was King Edwards Birmingham, who were no match for us, a encouraging 31-0 win. Next came Portsmouth Grammar School, a strong and physical outfit who provided a defensive challenge for us throughout the game. A Wellingborough attack pierced their defensive at key moments which ended in another win and clean sheet. The tournament then became anyone's, with Abingdon and Magdalen College awaiting us later in the day.

Wellingborough exquisitely broke down Akeley Woods defence with ease and then escaped a scare against Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg. We then went into the final two games with a positive mindset and confidence, however two last minute tries by Magdalen College and Abingdon ended our dreams of winning.

A fantastic day out for the U15's who showed resilience and collaboration to beat a number of larger schools from all over the country.

The team was the following:

William Heath
William Eccleston
James Sales
James Brazier
Louis Russell
Jack Buchan
Thomas Worth
Emeka Atuanya
Stanley Kirk
Max Petit
Nathan Metcalfe
