House News: Weymouth
We couldn’t start the year without recognising Weymouth’s success on the last day of term in Trinity 2023/24. Weymouth took the school by storm winning the Juniors, Inters and Seniors House Cross Country competitions alongside the Girls’ Athletic Shield for Sports’ Day, and finally the overall House Shield with contributions from all the Weymouth girls who earned merits throughout the year.
Weymouth may be a small House in terms of physical space, but this definitely has a positive impact on the girls working together as a team.
On Sunday we gathered as a House along with Platt’s House to participate in our annual Chapel Service; it was a beautiful service, and all those girls who contributed and attended, along with parents and grandparents, made it a special occasion. A huge thank you to those who could attend and support.
Then came last week’s performance which earned us the title of House Singing Champions 2024/25 – what a way to start the year! Year 13 worked tirelessly to put on a show to impress, and they definitely did so! It was lovely to join at the end of the competition for our annual House Picnic and Rounders – thankfully it remained dry, and the girls could bond even further as a House and celebrate their win.
Last, but by no means least, it’s been lovely to welcome back Mrs Alexander-Watson to Weymouth as well as a new addition to the tutor team, Miss Drakeford.
