Wellingborough School Celebrates Academic Excellence with Outstanding GCSE Results!
On the morning of the 22nd of August our largest Year 11 cohort ever came in to collect their results. They could hardly have hoped for better outcomes, with the 52% of outcomes at Grade 7 or above representing a non-Covid record, and 94% of grades at Grade 4 or above.
As well as delight at so many top grades – with seven pupils getting at least eight Grade 9s – nine pupils made at least 2 grades of progress against their Year 9 predictions.
Headmaster Andrew Holman congratulated the pupils on how well they had performed, saying,
“The buzz in the Sixth Form Centre this morning was fantastic, with so many pupils richly deserving of the results they received. They have worked so hard over the past two years, and made especially good use of their teachers and the School’s facilities in the weeks leading up to their exams, keen to eke out as much as possible.
We now look forward to most of these students embarking on their A level studies, undoubtedly keen to get off to a strong start and build upon the practices they’ve established during their GCSEs, joined by a healthy crop of newcomers to Year 12.”
