Wellingborough School Students Celebrate A Level Successes

News 15.08.2024 Whole School

Weeks of anticipation and trepidation came to an end as Wellingborough School’s outgoing A level students received their results. In a marketplace where there is much competition for jobs, apprenticeships and university places, the 2024 Leavers have secured a wide range of opportunities from Accountancy to Agriculture, with destinations taking in Newcastle to Bristol, and the USA to New Zealand.

Headmaster Andrew Holman praised the achievements of the students, stating,

“We are so proud of Year 13s’ achievements and, at moments like these, it’s easy to forget what a tumultuous secondary education they’ve had. These young people were in Year 9 when Covid hit; they were the first pupils to sit written exams after the pandemic. Their effort and resilience have now been rewarded and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces, filled with the prospect of the next chapter of their lives.

The students would, I’m sure, wish to join me in thanking the Wellingborough staff for everything they have done to help them towards the successes we’re seeing today, and their parents for the support and belief that has underpinned their educational journey.

We wish our Leavers a happy and successful future and look forward to hearing about all of the exciting things they’ve been up to.”
