Why choose Wellingborough

Wellingborough is a School which provides the opportunities that enable our pupils to discover their potential and decide who they want to be. It achieves this in a warm, supportive and challenging environment where pupils, staff and parents work together to ensure that every child flourishes.

We place a premium on the outcomes that our pupils achieve, in whatever field, but we are uncompromising in our desire to ensure that the learning journey is a contented one. Their health and happiness are paramount; everything we do starts from a caring core. Our pupils are confident young people who strive for success in all that they do, imbued with the skills that will help them to navigate the world in which they will find themselves when they leave our walls.

A N Holman, Headmaster

“The curriculum is suitably broad and designed to meet the needs and aptitudes of all pupils. Children in the early years are provided with a suitable range of activities which develop their skills. Teaching is effective in considering the needs and prior attainment of pupils so that they make good progress.”

An all-through family of schools

As an all-through school we provide the complete educational journey from age 3 in the Nursery to 18 in the Upper Sixth. Not only does this provide a sense of stability and belonging for pupils and families, it also allows them to benefit from a consistent and considered educational ethos designed to realise potential. Pupils also join us at other entry points and receive a warm welcome.

“Pupils respect each other and celebrate difference. They recognise and value the diversity of their school community.”

Academic excellence

Our academic provision is robust and challenging, equipping pupils with the qualifications they need to access the next stage of their education and achieve their career goals, whilst also establishing a lifelong love of learning.

In the upper years of the School there is first-class support for UCAS applications and careers advice, and, throughout the School, there are considerable extension opportunities to ensure pupils are the best learners they can be. The award of scholarships promotes our academic culture.
