At Wellingborough School we provide children and young adults with a world of opportunity.
Our main points of entry are Nursery, Reception, Years 3, 7 & Sixth Form. We also welcome new joiners at all entry points throughout the School, adding to the richness of our community.
The School wishes for prospective parents and pupils to fully understand our environment and ethos before committing and we encourage you to get to know us as you make that important decision of where to send your child to school.
Our Admissions Guide will take you through each step of the Admissions process:

In March 2022, Wellingborough School was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the body approved by the Government for the inspection of independent schools. To view our inspection report brochure
Pupils develop notably strong self-understanding and self-belief from an early stage, meeting the schools’ stated aim to encourage pupils to discover their potential and to decide who they want to be. This is because of the focus given to encouraging self-confidence by the schools’ leadership and the support provided by committed staff.

We are extremely proud of our pupils and staff and there is no comparison in meeting them and seeing our school in action. We encourage families to visit the school for open events, guided tours and taster days to get a sense of the school. Meetings can also be arranged either remotely or in person with our Headmaster and Head of Prep.

We encourage early registration with us, particularly for the key entry years and many families register a few years in advance of entry. Registering will help us to keep you informed with the next stages of the admissions process, including any admissions-focused events at Wellingborough you may wish to attend and dates of relevant examinations.

Pupils in Years 3-10 are required to sit an assessment. We will coordinate this so that your child can experience a taster day with their peers before or after they have sat the assessment. We hold Entrance Examinations in late January due to the large number of Year 7 registrations we receive. Students applying for Sixth Form are not required to sit an assessment but the offer of a place will depend on their GCSE Results.
