Good luck to the Gospel Choir!

News 19.05.2023 Whole School

The Wellingborough Community Gospel Choir which rehearses each Tuesday evening in the School Chapel has its origins over 10 years ago in the Centenary celebrations for the School Chapel. Wellingborough-based professional choirmaster, Gareth Fuller, conducted an ambitious programme of workshops ‘in-a-day’ for pupils of all ages culminating in a pop-up evening concert. The collective imagination was captured to such an extent that parents, staff, governors, OWs and friends of the school formed the backbone of what over the last decade has grown into a vibrant community choir. It has performed in churches, theatres and community centres across the county, as well as at London’s Royal Festival Hall raising much needed funds for community projects. This August the 80 strong Choir is embarking upon its most ambitious venture yet with a series of performances at The Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, entitled Get Up and Gospel!

We can’t wait to hear all about it and wish the Choir huge success.
