In Prep School This Week…

News 03.05.2024 Whole School

This week has seen co-curricular clubs begin for the term and it has been wonderful to see so many pupils involved in the wide variety of activities available.

On Monday I spoke in assembly to Upper Prep about one of the School values – Excellence. We celebrated achievements and I talked about the Year 13 students who were about to have their Lifers Assembly in Lower Prep, revisiting their memories from the past 15 years. It was a privilege to be able to attend this assembly and see the young men and women whose careers through the Prep School are an important part of our memories too. As they begin their study leave today, I wish them the very best of luck for the future and hope that they will keep in touch to let us know of their future successes and achievements.

This morning’s assembly was very enjoyable, with 5RC telling us all about the Solar System and their work in Science on this topic. We learnt lots of interesting facts and were entertained with some humour too. Thank you to Miss Cheney and the pupils for a great start to the day.

It was lovely to see eight cricket teams all out on the school fields in the Year 5 and 6 matches against Bedford Modern on Wednesday, but such a shame that today’s Year 3 and 4 fixtures had to be cancelled by the hosts due to the continuing inclement weather. Hopefully we will be able to reschedule these for later in the term. In the meantime, I wish everyone an enjoyable Bank Holiday and look forward to seeing all the pupils back in school on Tuesday.

Mrs Owen, Head of Prep
